The first time I came to Thailand was in 2007 and it was love at first sight. The country impressed me with its rich culture, its warm weather, great natural scenes and friendly people. As I studied cultural anthropology in my home country I was especially interested in Thai traditions, believes and religion. Fortunately my professors gave me the chance to study and write about Thailand as much as I wanted, so I wrote all my thesis about Thailand. At the same time I started to study the Thai language. First I studied in some language schools and then by myself. To learn Thai was so much fun, that it became a second hobby. I studied Thai in the train on the way back from university and work, during boring classes and at home to calm my mind. Yes, it’s true, the Thai language can calm your mind, the same way the warm weather and the charming way of the Thai people will always make you feel sabai sabai, the Thai word for well-being.
After I graduated in May 2012 I made the decision to move to Thailand for further studies and work. At the time I started to create this page, I just moved to Thailand three weeks ago and moved to an apartment at the outskirt of Bangkok. As I discovering Thailand, I invite you to join my trip and learn more about places, foods, people and culture of Thailand.
In 2013 I moved to Phuket, the famous tourist destination in the South of Thailand. I worked there as a Scuba Dive Instructor for about a year. If you are interested in Phuket and Southern Thailand check out the rubric Phuket and Southern Thailand. In 2014 I moved to Bangkok to study and work. For more information specifically on Bangkok and surrounding areas, check out the rubric Bangkok and Central Thailand.
I hope you are enjoying my website.
